  • School Centred Initial Teacher Training

in Portsmouth and on the Isle of Wight

  • Threaded Principles

Our Threaded Principles were written in collaboration with our course providers and trainees. They refer to the key themes that run consistently through our course, providing cohesion and connecting otherwise independent elements. They identify and emphasise the most important and unifying aspects of the course and are what make us unique.

our course is adaptive for the whole partnership:

We adapt our programme to meet the diverse needs of our trainees, mentors, providers, tutors, governors, and the SCITT team. We get to know our people and shape a programme that empowers everyone involved.

    our course is purposefully designed:

We deliver an integrated programme where taught sessions are carefully sequenced and aligned with school placements. Strong communication and collaboration across the partnership ensure a seamless learning experience

wellbeing for all is at the heart of the programme:

Wellbeing is a golden thread running through the entire course. From recruitment onwards, we focus on supporting your mental health and resilience, preparing you for the realities of teaching.

we go above and beyond for all:

Rooted in the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF), we aim to inspire and empower our trainees and partners. We go the extra mile to deliver memorable learning and set a new standard of excellence

    we are community focused:

We are deeply connected to the communities we serve — Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. We aim to strengthen our local schools by developing local talent, working in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, for Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
